PRIVATE REIKI TREATMENTS

Energy Healing

Energy healing to soothe the mind, body and soul

Experience the transformative practice of Reiki - an ancient Japanese energy healing technique that works to align and balance your body's energy fields, lower stress, promote balance, and gently nurture your body's innate healing wisdom.

This gentle and relaxing treatment works with your subtle energy systems to release mental and emotional blocks, restore balance, and bring a sense of wellbeing to your subtle and energetic bodies. Energy healing has also been found helpful in treating sleep disturbances, strengthening the immune system, boosting creativity, and promoting a positive outlook, among many other things!

For centuries, across many different cultures, energy healing has been used to maintain and improve wellbeing. Today, we live in busy and often stressful times where our energy can become depleted; I believe the ancient traditions of energy healing and mind-body medicine are just as powerful today, as they were centuries ago, to replenish our energy levels, release blocked energy, and help restore balance.

Let the healing begin

My energy healing sessions are an invitation to pause and rest, recover, replenish, and realign mind, body and soul.

When you arrive for your appointment we will have a consultation so I can personalise your treatment based upon your needs. I treat intuitively and each session is totally bespoke.

For the treatment itself you'll lie comfortably and fully clothed on my therapy couch. I begin with a short guided relaxation to settle you into the treatment, before placing my hands gently in various positions on your head, the front of your body, and in the air around your body. The energy flows through my hands and will flow to wherever it is needed. If you prefer a non-touch therapy, I can work solely off and above the body which is still equally beneficial.

During the treatment you may experience temperature changes in different parts of your body, see colours, or feel subtle sensations in your body - all of these are gentle and common. You may feel very little, or drop off to sleep - both of which are also common!

At the end of the treatment you'll relax for a few minutes before sitting up. We will then spend some time sharing your experience, any sensations you felt, and how you are feeling.

You’ll leave deeply relaxed, yet also much lighter and energised. Reiki healing is one of those treatments you have to experience to fully realise the benefits.

You can experience a Reiki treatment at my wellbeing studio in Four Marks, Hampshire. Centrally located and easily accessible from Winchester, Petersfield, Basingstoke and the surrounding areas.  Once you’ve booked, I’ll send you information on what is recommended before and after your treatment.

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing system that works to cleanse and heal imbalanced energy within the body. Reiki life force energy (also known as 'Prana' in Indian culture and 'Qi' or 'Chi' in Chinese philosophy) refers to the life force energy that circulates through the body in all living beings. In a session, a trained practitioner channels natural energy healing to help balance the flow of life force energy within your body, and help you return to your healthy energy state.
  • What is a session like?
Many people experience deep relaxation, feelings of peace, warmth and security, rejuvenation, and reduced symptoms. There can also be energetic releases physically or emotionally through tears or laughter, all of which are great for an energy cleanse.

  • What shall I wear
Any kind of workout clothes that you are comfortable in and can move in without restriction.
  • Isn't mindfulness just relaxation?
Whilst mindfulness can feel calming, the purpose of mindfulness is not simply to relax; it is to cultivate the skill of noticing what happens in the mind and body however it is: when there is discomfort, anger or stress as much as happiness, joy or ease. By noticing these things as they happen, you create the freedom to choose your response.
  • Is mindfulness religious?
No, the mindfulness curriculums I follow are strictly secular. There are periods of sitting quietly and there is appreciation of how extraordinary it is to be human, but the framework is one of common sense and practical application.
  • How are you qualified to teach Mindfulness to young people?
I am a qualified Mindfulness and Meditation teacher with additional qualifications in teaching mindfulness to children (Calm for Kids) and the Teach .B course from the Mindfulness in Schools Project. I also hold a Level 4 PTTLS qualification, D32 and D33 Assessor Awards and an enhanced DBS certificate. You can view all of my qualifications here
  • Does mindfulness for schools include yoga?
The mindfulness curriculum I follow includes some elements of mindful movement such as mindful walking or mindfully being aware of our body during movement, it does not include traditional yoga poses. Similarly paying attention to the breath plays a useful role in mindfulness as it is always available as an object of attention, but so is the rest of your body, the food you are eating and the person you are listening to, the courses do not include any yogic breathwork techniques.
  • Is there any evidence for the benefits of mindfulness?
Whilst still at a relatively early stage, the evidence-base for mindfulness is very encouraging. For example, brain imaging studies show that mindfulness practice reliably and profoundly alters the structure and function of the brain to improve the quality of thought, feeling and concern for others. Here is a link to an interesting study by the Mindfulness in Schools Project https://mindfulnessinschools.org/the-evidence-base/myriad-what-misp-learned/
